Pharaoh's Treasure is a video slot game with an Ancient Egypt Motif, complete with strong tribal drums and sound effects. The Ancient Egyptian feel is rounded out by the images on the reels, which includes Pharaoh, who indicates a bonus, a sarcophagus for the wild, and a jewel, scarab, ring, coin, ankh, and pyramid. The game is well designed both as art and as a game. The images and sound converge to create a stunningly immersive environment, while the game play contributes to an enjoyable experience that in ease of use doesn't frustrate or bore.

Game play in Pharaoh's Treasure is straight forward: at the center of the bottom of the screen, there are five buttons: Bet Level, Bet Lines, Coin Value, Max Bet, and Start. The bet level button allows you to set how much is bet per bet line. This is important because the next button, bet lines, allows you to indicate how many bet lines to run. This Pharaoh's Treasure has 9 unique bet lines available, the first few of which run across rows on the board, while others cross the board at angles to create arrangements that increase the likelihood of a win. Similarly, Coin Value designates the actual value of each coin in a bet. The Max Bet button allows up to 4 bets. In the center of these buttons is the button clicked to play the game. When you click this button, the reels each spin, speeding up as each reel stops in sequence. To win, you need three of any single symbol in any one betting line running from the left edge.

Getting three bonus symbols on the reels opens up a bonus game. In this mini-game, there are 12 coffins. Clicking on a coffin opens it up, while a tune reminiscent of a snake charmer is played. Inside of each coffin, you will either find treasure or a mummy. If you find treasure, it is added to your winnings, and you can continue playing the bonus game. This continues until you open a coffin with a mummy, at which point you return to the main game.

Anytime you win, whether it is through the main slot game or the bonus game, you are given the option to play double or nothing. The double or nothing game ups the ante and the beat. A heavy drum line and tribal chant sets the tone for the game. The game begins when a jewel is dropped into the mouth of a statue. At the waist of the statue, the jewel can either go a jar under the left or the right foot. You have to pick the correct jar in order to double your earnings. When you select a jar, it shatters open in a cloud of dust, hopefully, but not always, revealing the gem. If you win at double or nothing, you have the option of trying again or returning to the main game. If you lose the double or nothing game, you are taken back to the slots to try your luck again.
Pharaoh's Treasure is, to be sure, an immensely enjoyable experience. It is well developed, easy to play, and provides a variety unique to its class of game. It has a learning curve that gets the player started immediately, and a playability that lends itself to brief episodes and longer periods of play. The game allows the player specific control over their betting, and therefore control of their experience. It is, on the whole, a thoroughly well designed game.
